Public policy

Voters have a First Amendment Right to petition their elected officials. While many school boards want to shut down the electorate’s concerns and make decisions without public input, it is our duty to respectfully lobby how we want our tax dollars spent.  Individuals can follow what is happening in their school boards and receive alerts from SLCFA.  We hope to inform voters within the respective Districts so the residents of those individual districts can shape School Board decisions.

We will, additionally, follow the January to May Missouri Legislative Session.  We will alert voters at the appropriate time to lobby their State Legislators on state legislation important to parents.

Our goal is to shape local school board actions and state legislation that assures that education supports, and does not undermine, families.  Sign up for updates to take civic action for School Board and Legislative votes.
